Requirements: New Replacement Windows MUST have a 0.30 U-Factor (Value) or less and a 0.30 SHGC Solar Heat Gain Coefficient) to qualify.
Tax Credit is 30% of cost to replace windows up to $1,500.
Example: Spend $5,000.00 receive $1,500 tax credit.
Windows can be installed from December 31, 2008 to December 31, 2010 to get the tax credit from the 2009 Stimulus Bill. Homeowners must keep records that the windows meet the requirements. IRS will have forms for homeowners for tax credit. This replaces the $200 energy tax credit that was originally passed for Energy Star qualified windows. It does NOT include all windows that have the Energy Star label. In fact, most of the windows with the label ARE NOT qualified for this program. Homeowners have to be careful to choose windows based on their U-factor and SHGC factor (Solar Heat Gain Coeffiecient). We know the requirements and have windows that comply with these requirements; guaranteeing you comply with the requirements to get your tax credit.
